Kids Craft Tissue Paper Flowers

Why not brighten up someone's day by handcrafting some cheap & cheerful tissue paper flowers with the kids! These colourful flowers are easy enough to make with a young child or toddler with a few basic supplies - bright tissue paper, clear tape and straws! If you like you can paint an empty baby food/ pasta sauce jar to proudly display your work too.

You'll need:
Small size side plate (approx 10cm diameter)
Pencil or chalk
Scissors
Tissue Paper - 2 sheets per flower.
Straws
Sellotape
Optional - Clean clear glass jar & Non Toxic Paints & Paint Brush or Felt & Ribbon to wrap up the flowers

Here's how to make these kids craft tissue paper flowers....

1. Place the side plate on the 2 sheets of tissue paper. Draw the circle outline with chalk or pencil and cut out along the lines so you have 2 circles.

2.  Fold the circles in half and in half again so you have a semi circle shape.

3. Tape the tip of the straw into the middle of the semi circle.

4. Fold over the circle (so it looks like a cone shape) and tape to the tip of the straw again.

5.  Make some more colourful flowers by repeating the steps above with more colours of tissue paper!

6. Paint the outside of the jar and leave to dry. Place a scrunched up piece of sellotape into the bottom of the jar and insert the flowers so they stick and stay in place in the jar.

OR if you prefer to wrap up the bunch of flowers as a gift just wrap a piece of felt around the stems (straws) and tie with ribbon scraps.

Enjoy!
