Festive Food for Toddlers
As parents ourselves we know its only too tough to keep the little ones eating right during the Holidays. With tons of chocolate, treats and cakes about the house its no harm to teach them that healthy food can also be fun. We've concocted some easy wholesome CrafTea treats which get the kids involved in making them and look fantastic served up on any Christmas table!

Rudolp's Peanut Butter Crispbread.
Reindeers need to get their energy levels up for that really important flight around the world on Christmas Eve and they just love nuts, dried fruit and wholesome wheat bread! To make the first snack, simply butter some Crispbread/ Cracottes/ or Ryvitas with peanut butter and place two dried banana slices on for eyes. Using some shredded dried coconut slivers or pretzels place them over the eyes as antlers, and add a cranberry for Rudolph's red nose. Raisins complete his face with a big beaming smile.
Snowmen RiceCakes
Frosty the Snowman adores all things white! Butter a round ricecake with low fat cream cheese (full of calcium and protein!) and for a treat place on some cereal squares (we used Chocolate parcels which we eat over Christmas breakfasts) on top for a hat. Alternatively you could use some peanut butter, or cubes of dark chocolate which isnt as bad for you as milk chocolate. Dot some raisins on for eyes and his smile and add a small tip of a baby carrot slice on for the nose.
Santa's Egg-tastic Beard
Great on a cold morning to warm you up, beat up some egg whites and poach in the microwave. I just beat the egg, grease a regular cereal bowl with some butter, add in the egg and wrap it in clingfilm and cook on a low microwave heat for 2mins until its still soggy - and leave it for 3-4 minutes to let the steam finish the cooking. While the egg is cooking, toast a slice of wholewheat bread. Remove the poached egg from the bowl and place it on the bottom half of the toast. Eggs taste great with ketchup, so squirt some along the crust of the toast. If you don't like ketchup you could always add some chopped cherry tomatoes or slices of raw red pepper or roasted red peppers to make his hat. Add raisins for eyes, a chopped cherry tomato for Santa's nose and add a smile from a cranberry, piece of shredded cheese or another squirt of ketchup! We gave our Santa some eyebrows with cashew nuts too!
