Mini St Patrick's Day Toliet Paper Roll Hats

Paddy's Day is fast approaching so we made these cute St Patrick's Day Hats out of toliet rolls the other day. The kids absolutely loved making these as they are so simple to make and we had great fun jumping around wearing them afterwards.

Here's what you need:
Empty Toilet Roll Holder
Scissors
Green Paint
Paintbrush
Black/Orange Felt
Light/Dark Green Card
Glue
Green Pipe Cleaner
Green Button
Stapler

Instructions:

  1. Cut an empty toilet roll holder in half with a scissors
  2. Paint the toilet roll holder pieces green and leave to dry.
  3. Use the toilet roll holder as a template and draw around the outside to create a circle lids shape with the light green card and glue it onto the top.
  4. Cut out two long strips of card and approx 3cm wide and staple onto the hat. And then together.

  5. Cut out the rim of the hat in black felt and the buckle in orange felt and glue onto hat.
  6. To make a shamrock wrap a green pipe cleaner around your three fingers and twist the stem. I glued a green button the the front of my shamrock.
  7. Glue your shamrock to the side of your hat.
