Easy DIY Halloween Lanterns

We made similar ones to these last Halloween by using silhouttes but you can actually have more fun with these ones by being creative with the funny ghost and pumpkin faces!

What you need:
Empty jars
Paint
Paint Brush
Scissors
Tea lights

Instructions:

1) Rinse out your old jars, remove any labels and dry. You may need to leave them soak in warm soapy water.

2) Paint in the colour of your choice. I found the lighter colours worked better as lanterns especially yellow and white. Allow to dry. You may need to give them a second coat depending on what type of paint you use.

3) Using black paint and a little paint brush paint on ghost and pumpkin funny faces of your choice directly onto the jars. It might help to draw on the faces first with a pencil and then paint. You could also use a black marker. Leave to dry.

4) You can also make Halloween silhouette jars. I printed off some Halloween inspired silhouettes from the internet including a bat, cat, bird, ghost etc...

5) Cut out your silhouettes and glue onto your jar in place.

5) Place a tealight inside your jar. You can use a wooden skewer or long match to light your tea light.
