Who would have thought some old jumpers/sweaters could have turned these plain cups into something special!! Its super simple so we wanted to show you how....
With days getting colder and darker its time to get out the winter woolies again.. but what happens when you find theyve shrunk or just dont look good any more? Perhaps they are bobbly or tired looking?
Well........Get chopping and transform them into something new! This is upcycling at its most creative.....
Heres what you need:
Wooly Jumper/Sweater sleeve
Scissors
Fabric Glue or Needle & Thread
Mugs (one sleeve per mug)
To begin...... Fit the sleeve over the chosen mug. Snip off enough so that you can cover the bottom of the mug neatly
To keep the mug contents (whether its coffee/ tea or hot water and lemon) warmest, wrap the sleeve under the mug and secure it so its flat and not titling the mug. You definitely dont want your warm drink to spill when this is finished so make sure the botttom is tucked neatly and secured with fabric glue or a needle and thread.
Or ...If this just isnt working out, snip off more of the sleeve so that the sleeve just covers the sides of the mug. wrap any remaining sleeve under itself so you dont see a seam/stray threads.
You'll need access to the handle to hold your mug so make a small 1cm incision at the mug handle and the wool is generally elastic enough to pull away and curl under itself so as to reveal your mug handle,.. ready for holding.

Enjoy making these and dont forget to let us know how you get on!
